The culmination of over twenty years of research and development, CentriTel is Infinity Photo-Optical's trademark for an unprecedented optical achievement: Internal focus without magnification change—from a fixed working distance.
In CentriTel mode, the progressive focus seems to "peel away" while the image remains centered and exactly where it was. Now it is possible to choose a specific working distance and focus forward and back—without external movement—without magnification change—without changing the field of view. In fact, CentriTel optics can be fixed—or "bolted"—onto robotic arms, built onto assembly lines—even built into production machines themselves. Now, the instrument can come to the object—not the other way around—to easily make measurements that could not even be anticipated before.
DIRECT CentriTel
Two of Infinity's product lines most exemplify CentriTel capabilities: InfiniVar CFM-2/S REVERSO™ and CentriMax™. REVERSO is the choice for use from infinity down to 20mm at macro magnifications. CentriMax attains the highest quality long-distance images with MX-series objectives and can then be equipped to focus infinity-corrected microscope objectives—limited only by the objective's own characteristics—to the limits of optical microscopy. CentriMax has two front lens options which allow standard and Zeiss ICS compatible corrections.
SUPPLEMENTAL CentriTel
While InfiniVar CFM-2/S REVERSO and CentriMax are direct CentriTel systems, a CentriTel Focuser can supplement Infinity's K2/S and HDF-2/S instruments. All other characteristics remain, but even these larger-format instruments can be equipped to function in CentriTel mode whereby magnification remains essentially constant during the supplemental focus translation.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Most advanced CentriTel optics are motorized and software driven. Infinity Photo-Optical Company and Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) have partnered once again to harness 3i's SlideBook® software to create 3-D images of stunning clarity combined with the most sophisticated measurements possible.
