InfiniMax/S™
Long-Distance Microscopes
Change Working Distance but NOT Magnification!
- ConstantMag™ Internal Focusing System Maintains Magnification Despite Working-Distance Changes
- Resolution Second Only to Model K2/S
- High Power/High Aperture Design
- Objective Options 0.58x - 2.9X
- Optional Amplifiers Extend Magnification Potential

InfiniMax/S Long-Distance Microscope
The InfiniMax/S uses Infinity's ConstantMag system that maintains virtually the same magnification
within the specified focusing range for each objective.
With performance second only to Infinity’s own Model K2/S, InfiniMax/S is ideally suited for high resolution gauging/measuring
applications. At the same time—within its operating range—InfiniMax/S is a world-class
long-distance microscope. By adding the 3x Large Format Amplifier (LFA) it can be
used with formats up to those equivalent to that of 35mm SLR's (24x36mm; 43mm diagonal).
InfiniMax/S MX-Series Objectives
MX-Series objectives
attach to the InfiniMax/S Main Body to obtain six basic magnification choices. Ranging
InfiniMax's focus provides virtually the same magnification, regardless of working
distance.
Directly, InfiniMax/S can be used with video formats up to 2/3-in. With the Large
Format Amplifier (LFA), InfiniMax/S can be used with video and photo formats up
to 36x43mm (35mm SLRs or digital cameras or very large video formats).
- InfiniMax™ or CentriMax™?
-
Both have the same aperture and resolution at equal distances. Both use
the same MX-Series objectives. Which one fits your needs really depends on whether you benefit
most from ConstantMag or from CentriTel™ characteristics. In addition, CentriMax can be equipped
with adapters for use with infinity-corrected microscope objectives—literally to the resolution
limits of optical microscopy. In this mode, essential magnification may vary slightly due to the various characteristics of different manufacturer's objective designs.
-
ConstantMag
- The focusing system of InfiniMax. Focus is re-established internally when
the optic is moved to a new working distance. Moving the optic maintains
the same magnification and field of view. Some sort of positioning
device is necessary.
-
CentriTel
- The focusing system of CentriMax. Moving the optic often changes
the magnification and field of view. However, once magnification and field of
view are established, they remain constant as the focus is activated. While
a positioning device may be used, it is not ultimately essential. CentriTel allows
the optic to be fixed in position, yet still provides accurate focal translation.
