Specific Magnification with the Greatest Working Distance
Infinity instruments and lenses are able to be amplified. This means that
additional optical elements can be introduced to increase magnification. Since most
Infinity instruments and lenses have internal focusing (by patented AVS™,
InFocus™ or DFS™ systems), magnification can be increased by introducing
an amplifier. Once done, the instrument or lens can be moved further away from the
object—yet the original magnification can be retained. This also tends to
increase depth of field.
For example:
If you plan to use an InfiniTube, Model KC/S, or Model K2/S with a supplemental
objective, use a lower-powered one. Then, by using a DL
Tube 2x amplifier between imager and video camera magnification can be increased—yet
the longest possible working distance can be maintained.
This same technique can be used with Model K2/S and a TR or TX Tube 2x amplifier
for all formats—even direct 35mm (43mm diagonal) format cameras. Rest assured
that there is not a single Infinity instrument or lens that cannot be amplified.
